follow up edit[edit]

It was units from A and B Company who where inserted on the terraces in the Aranas area. One Soldier a M-240 machine gunner from the weapons squad 2nd PLT, A Co, was injured in the insertion when the helicopter suddenly moved from the mountain side as he disembarked, causeing him to fall 50 feet and break his leg. The unit who inserted with Bravo company and assisted with the search in Aranas was 2nd PLT A-Co. They where sent in after B-co when the sun rose the next morning, providing more light in which to do a good sensative site investigation, as locating the target house among the multitude of terraced buildings was ineffective in the dark. The Forward Observer (13F) from 2nd PLT used his VECTOR laser range finder from the other side of the valley to confirm the location of the target house prior to moving to secure it. This allowed the PLT to quickly move and secure the building in question. During the search they retrieved a large sum of money and documents hidden in one of the HVT target building in a hidden basement compartment. It was 1st PLT Alpha Company and units from Bravo who where on the moutain top in hip deep snow. It was believed using a map recon prior that those units would be able to exfil off of the mountain but due to the large amount of snow it was impossible for them to get through the pass. They spent the night and had to be extracted via helicopter the next day.

problems encountered edit....[edit]

Not only was the large signature of the Air Assault an issue but the plan to drop a PSYOP message prior to the assault also assited with pre warning AAF.

Other issue was using map recon; instead of and actual arial leader recon; to preselect the LZ, this resulted in units being trapped on a snow packed mountain with the passes blocked by ice and snow requiring them to be extracted via helicopter the next morning. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sfcgguarino (talkcontribs) 20:13, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

verifiability[edit]

One the biggest goals of Wikipedia has to do with it's contents being reasonably verifiable. Two of the sources aren't even linked. The rest are dead links and I can't even find them in the swayback machine. The page needs cleaned up.

and BTW, what's with this talk page? Jackhammer111 (talk) 07:04, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
