The result of the move request was: moved, but create redirect ORANI to Peter Dixon (economist) as the primary topic for the ALLCAPS title, per In ictu oculi's link -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:55, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]


– Updated WP:MOSPHIL now allows <city name> only format for Philippine towns. Per precedent with RM's earlier this year such as those of Talk:Cagdianao and Talk:Baliuag. And also the following bold moves made by some Wikipedians before (not exhaustive):

  • Oppose. Judging by the relative popularity of the two main articles, Orani, Bataan is a winner by a wide margin, but the pageviews for the dab page itself are so low – barely one hit each day – that any attempt to infer actual usage is likely to get lost in the statistical noise. More to the point, I don't see a reason why the Philippine municipality should necessarily have more longer term significance than the Italian one (its higher population notwithstanding). Also, noting that I've added a few more entries to the dab, mostly minor (except for the "see also" entry for a major region of Algeria). – Uanfala (talk) 13:17, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose "Orani is" test that's what immediately says that removing "Bataan" won't help all readers. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:16, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong support. This is a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The Bataan article gets 96% of pageviews of the listed "Orani" topics. Sending readers to the dab page would be a disservice. Dohn joe (talk) 14:10, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
