Split[edit]

This page and Ordinary Seaman (occupation) were split from Ordinary Seaman. Haus42 14:54, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move[edit]

Since this is not a modern rank in the Royal Navy, and when it was used it was a rating, not a rank, I am moving this article to Ordinary Seaman (rating) --Woland (talk) 18:27, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Able Seaman (rank) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RM bot 23:51, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ordinary seaman (rating)Ordinary seaman (rank) – Reverse the redirect for WP:CONSISTENCY. No other military rank article uses "(rating)" as the disambiguator and across WP only two other pages do, which are redirects. It was moved from "(rank)" in 2008, with the ES "this is not a modern rank in the Royal Navy, and when it was used it was a rating, not a rank". However, it is a rank in the Royal Canadian Navy and Irish Naval Service, as the article says. 62.165.227.102 (talk) 10:38, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
