Date of birth[edit]

According to Bonnetain (1887) Au Tonkin, [1], [2] and Fr:Oscar_de_Négrier, de Négrier was born on 2 October 1839, not in 1842.--André de StCoeur (talk) 07:41, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

He his generally called "Oscar de Négrier" (or "François Oscar de Négrier"), not "François de Négrier" to avoid confusion with François-Marie-Casimir Négrier, often called "François Négrier". The Belfort street called from is name is "rue Général Oscar de Négrier". In my view, the name of the article should be changed into "Oscar de Négrier", like the French Wikipedia page (or into "François Oscar de Négrier"). --André de StCoeur (talk) 08:14, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Death[edit]

The French page on fr:Oscar de Négrier says that he died aboard the ship "Kong Harold" near the Norwegian coast on 22 August 1913. The [|Larousse] just says that he died on the Norwegian coast in 1913. It seems to me that the name of the ship is mispelled and that it was in fact the "Kong Harald" (1890-1951). Who knows about the name of the ship? Who knows why he died ? a vengeance of Liu Yongfu? because on an overdose of chả giò? in the arms of Marguerite Steinheil? --André de StCoeur (talk) 11:38, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
