NOTABLE ALUMNI[edit]

removed - They recived honorary diplomas / degrees

from aluni section, although they have all recieved hon docs fron Brookes, they did not study there.

perhaps make a new section for this information —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.2.123.45 (talk) 22:18, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Can we expand further the Notable Alumni as well as adding a list of Notable staff within the university. I also propose a complete overhaul of the Alumni page with the including of Honorary degrees. — Preceding unsigned comment added by William77 (talkcontribs) 21:33, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

new edits[edit]

Someone is repeatedly editing the introduction to take out this bit

Formerly known as Oxford City Technical School (1891) and Oxford Polytechnic (1970), it was renamed in 1992 to honour its former principal, John Brookes. The university's Department of Architecture is one of the largest in Britain.

See these edits:

Not sure if it's vandalism or if they have a good reason for deleting it, they never give a reason for their edits. Extua (talk) 14:40, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

New or Public[edit]

For the fifth time someone (i.e. User:Bluecrime) has changed the university description from new university to public university. It is definitely a new university, formed in 1992, and not a 'public university' in any meaningful way. It looks suspiciously like someone is trying to disguise the univerity's past life as a polytechnic (again). I've reverted the edit again and left a message on Bluecrime's Talk page. Proposed merge with Functional Food Centre at Oxford Brookes University[edit]

Center is not notable enough for a separate article DGG ( talk ) 04:16, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

I agree, not enough references and I've never heard of it, though keep the separate article on the School of Architecture because it's been around for much longer and has a history of its own. Extua (talk) 16:08, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
Oppose - The article in itself is notable, at least in my opinion. Independent source 1, 2, 3, etc. There are several third party sites, articles, etc mentioning this centre which makes it notable. Most things in this article are referenced; this can only be improved on and expanded/explored further. If you insist on merging it, then it should be merged with Oxford Brookes Uniersity Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences after it is created and expanded. Merging with the main article doesn't really make sense considering this fits better in with the respective sub-topic. Chris(Talk) 08:49, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
