Sahitya Akademi Award: problems with references[edit]

Devassia's receipt of the Sahitya Akademi Award for Sanskrit had until 15 Feb 2011 been cited to these two references:

  • "Devassia, P.C. (1906)" (pp. 350-352) in Volume 1 (A-Dh) of Bhattacharya, J. N. (2003). Encyclopaedic dictionary of Sanskrit literature. Delhi, India: Global Vision Publishing House. ISBN 8187746858. {{cite book}}: |access-date= requires |url= (help); Unknown parameter |coauthors= ignored (|author= suggested) (help) (5 volume set, ISBN 9788187746843): 350–2

However, bobraynor pointed out that the reliability of the publisher (Global Vision) is in doubt, and removed the references. After initial reluctance, I too have been persuaded of the doubts about reliability of Global Vision (see discussion on RS noticeboard - DIFF). If anyone could add a more reliably sourced reference for Devassia's award, it would be much appreciated. Thank you. -- Health Researcher (talk) 18:07, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the removal of a source from a questionable publisher here. In this case, searching Google Books for +devassia "sahitya akademi award" reveals plenty of sources, from more reputable publishers (like the Sahitya Akademi itself!). One could include a few of them, and also use them to expand the article. Regards, Shreevatsa (talk) 18:48, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
