Recyclable or compostable?[edit]

Is parchment paper recyclable or compostable? Given that it is made of paper/wood fiber, it is mostly organic. Grandma Roses (talk) 17:09, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Can anyone can find a manufacturer source for which way up this stuff goes, or if it matters at all? (talk) 00:31, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Parchment paper no longer protected[edit]

FYI, I have release Parchment paper from edit protection and redirected it here per a request. I may be of interest to those watching this article to discuss moving page there. --RA (talk) 17:23, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Newer Citation?[edit]

I think it's quite laughable that the opening sentence of the article starts out saying "Modern parchment paper is made by..." and then has a footnote on it for a 1860 publication. Surely there's something less than 150 years old that could be cited...
