## Commutator with itself

What's about the commutator ${\displaystyle [W^{\mu },W^{\nu }]}$? Literature is full of mistakes of sign and factor ${\displaystyle i}$ (even w.r.t. the individual definitions of the angular momentum operators). It could be quite helpful to have a waterproof-calculated-and-multiply-checked commutator in this article. :-) --Stefan Neumeier (talk) 11:21, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

Done. Sign of CR is consistent with what is on that page at present. Note we are discussing ray representations. The overall - sign in the definition is at variance with that of lots of textbooks, but there is no harm in it. Caveat lector. Cuzkatzimhut (talk) 15:50, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your edits Cuzkatzimhut. You and the IPs have expanded it really well, compared to my lame edits (I wish I knew more on this interesting topic and its applications to RQM, still occasionally reading it up). M∧Ŝc2ħεИτlk 18:48, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
Appreciative of your appreciation! The scope of this one is mercifully limited. The real McCoy is Wigner's classification, that I simply lack the time and gumption to fix or even upgrade. According to Kim, Wigner considered that classification of irreps of the Poincare group as his most important contributions to physics.... Cuzkatzimhut (talk) 19:29, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
