Under Taxonomy, the link "Gunther" leads to a page describing the name, not the person. Is Albert_C._L._G._Günther the correct page? I haven't checked the other names on the page. (talk) 00:06, 9 January 2008 (UTC)AceOfShades

I would question the renaming of Nannostomus unifasciatus and Nannostomus eques to the alternate genus of Nannobrycon. EOL, ITIS and Fishbase all list the put these in Nannostomus. ITIS states this genus is now a junior synonym. Is there a recent publication which would argue otherwise? — Preceding unsigned comment added by JerryL2012 (talkcontribs) 19:47, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Even ITIS states that Nannobrycon' is "invalid." As is 'Poecilobrycon,' another formerly used but now invalid classification. All members of this genus are indeed now Nannostomus and have been since Dr. Stanley H. Weitzman's seminal paper on the subject in 1975 which has received near-universal acceptance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lochrian (talkcontribs) 16:56, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

Taxonomy section[edit]

Eigenmann described three species in 1909, not two: also Nannostomus minimus. Has it also "been popular with aquarists since the early twentieth century"? Spicemix (talk) 19:49, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Fixed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lochrian (talkcontribs) 03:21, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
