Fair use rationale for Image:Peopleinneed.gif[edit]

Image:Peopleinneed.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Requested move 21 May 2018[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: move the page as requested, per the discussion below; the disambiguation page has been retained at People in Need (disambiguation). Dekimasuよ! 02:02, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

People in Need (Czech Republic)People in Need – Further detail in brackets not necessary, since there are no articles with the same title Concus Cretus (talk) 07:24, 21 May 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. Galobtter (pingó mió) 09:38, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Hhkohh (talk) 10:28, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Target is a dab page (nom moved it, I moved it back). The RTE telethon, and Hearst kidnapping related charity (move of target to People in Need (disambiguation) undone, use a multi-move template please) are equally or more notable (and btw "no articles with the same title" is not how Wikipedia works). In ictu oculi (talk) 10:11, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. No other WP:NOTABLE topic on WP at the moment, so default primarytopic to the Czech entity. Dohn joe (talk) 13:05, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's simply not true. The RTE telethon is on WP. You're confusing "title" with "topic". We go by topic. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:09, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I said "WP:NOTABLE topic". "On Wikipedia, notability is a test used by editors to decide whether a given topic warrants its own article." Dohn joe (talk) 14:53, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No it isn't for two reasons
(1) not every topic has to be forked out
(2) Wikipedia is only 10% complete. Please see WP:NOTFINISHED. If what you said was true there wouldn't be 1,000s of new articles every week.
What you've said above is totally incorrect on two counts. You're misreading "On Wikipedia, notability is a test used by editors to decide whether a given topic warrants its own article." backwards. In ictu oculi (talk) 15:31, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You are proposing that Wikipedia should keep disambiguation in titles of articles for the potential future possibility that there will one day be a notable topic with the same title, without any basis that such situation will occur, or that it is relevant. There is an actual basis for this being the primary topic.--Concus Cretus (talk) 09:35, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This article is not about a Czech version. It is a Czech entity, like Amnesty International is a United Kingdom entity, both operating internationally. This article is about the Czech Republic-based, internationally operating entity.--Concus Cretus (talk) 05:19, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The article appears to go back and forth as to whether it is about the international version or the Czech version. It's not immediately clear whether that's because of the editing history or has been an issue since the start, but the scope seems to be unclear to some editors. If this is moved, it seems like the article would have to be rebalanced. The logo is for the Czech version; much of the "Programs and projects" section relates only to the Czech Republic, particularly "Social integration programs" and "Education and outreach." Dekimasuよ! 19:13, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It is possible that some editors focus, knowingly or otherwise, on the Czech aspects of the topic because of the title. If so, changing the title might have the added benefit of allowing the broader perspective. Station1 (talk) 19:55, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per WP:PRECISE. This is the only article currently on WP that could reasonably take the title "People in Need". Station1 (talk) 18:42, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support This is clear primary topic with the name precisely not as annotation or in anticipation of currently nonexistent article. Pageview stats also attest to that. –Ammarpad (talk) 09:21, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
