Some info about the project from my personal experience:[edit]

The test is quite considerable (like a genetics 101 seminar). I spoke to a doctor about it who was concerned that it would introduce an enormous Selection_bias. IMO: This will end up being a comprehensive study of college educated middle-to-upper class Americans. Which, if profit is a concern, is just the demographic that pharmaceutical company would want to research.

The study guide can be found at it's a really fun read. I highly recommend it to anyone who's interested in genetics.

The study guide points out that some preference will be given to volunteers with genetic relatives enrolled in the study. Accordingly, this has had a bit of a "viral" effect on services like Facebook and Geni where relatives are busy trying to get their cousins to sign up too. (talk) 20:19, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
