We seem to have drifted rather from the point

Philip Vanbrugh married Mary Griffith in Arnold, Nottinghamshire on 24 July 1715 and they had one known child, Philippia, born 1716, la belle consulesse, who married Burrington Goldsworthy of Down House, Dorset, British consul at Leghorn, Italy and later at Cadiz. Their son, Lieutenant-General Philip Goldsworthy, became a favoured equerry to King George III and from 1772 his unmarried sister, Martha Caroline was sub-governess, under Lady Charlotte Finch, of the 15 royal children. That is to say, Lady Charlotte supervised Miss Goldsworthy's supervision of both the children and their large squad of educators including J C Bach. Miss Goldsworthy was Queen Charlotte's personal appointment. Miss Goldsworthy's personal assistant, Miss Gomm, was simultaneously raising her brother's orphans, the eldest of whom became Field Marshal William Maynard Gomm.

Having read this paragraph two or three times, I've worked out that Field Marshal Gomm was Philip Vanbrugh's grand-daughter's personal assistant's nephew. This doesn't seem very relevant to an article about Philip Vanbrugh.Chuntuk (talk) 14:43, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
