Image copyright problem with File:Made with Marionettte.png
The image File:Made with Marionettte.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.
Relationship to RenderMan
The article isn't as clear as I'd like on this--is PRMan just the name of Pixar's implementation of the RenderMan spec? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Piojo (talk • contribs) 20:04, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Proposed merge with RenderMan Artists Tools
Lead sentence: Who are "they"?
The lead sentence:
- RenderMan (formerly PhotoRealistic RenderMan), RenderMan Studio and RenderMan Pro Server are proprietary photorealistic 3D rendering addons to Autodesk Maya based on their own RenderMan Interface Specification.
...implies that RMS and RMPS are based on their own (that is, the software's) specification. As far as I know, all software is "based on its own specification"—in other words, it's written to be what it is. Wouldn't it be clearer to say these apps are based on Pixar's specification? E.g.:
- RenderMan (formerly PhotoRealistic RenderMan), RenderMan Studio and RenderMan Pro Server are proprietary photorealistic 3D rendering addons to Autodesk Maya, developed by Pixar and based on their RenderMan Interface Specification.
