Formerly a disambig page[edit]

I've removed the disambiguation template, as this is no more a disambig page than those for the other advocacy ribbons. Speight (talk) 04:13, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it should be merged to the List of awareness ribbons. WhatamIdoing (talk) 23:33, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal[edit]

I propose merging Pink and blue ribbon into List of awareness ribbons.

There really is no need for the pink and blue ribbon to have a seperate entry. There's a few you'd definitely think twice about, say, haphazardly using in your branding, but you'd most likely be quite aware that it's not so much a potential breach of copyright as it is people acting unethically and in bad faith.

Also... suffice to say, death is a highly contentious topic, especially of babies, infants and other stages of foetal development in utero.

However - this is the awareness ribbon associated with pregnancy and infant loss. That usage case covers a father who "lost a child due to abortion" (to quote the previous version of this article, in which this scenario was unnecessarily singled out.) as much as it does the mother. In turn, it denotes her experience as much as that of a grieving husband and wife who are otherwise happily married.

Breast cancer in men and male-bodied people is, I'm sure, an equally contentious discussion. It also would be more appropriately listed as a variation on the existing pink ribbon.
