Olympic Sized Pools

[edit]

"The only other completed Olympic sized swimming pools in England are the Sunderland Aquatic Centre and the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds."

This is wrong. Is it supposed to say in the North of England, or something like that ? I propose to delete it unless it is corrected. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JustinSmith (talkcontribs) 08:18, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Positives and Negatives of Ponds Forge`s use for competitions

[edit]

This article contains weasel words, vague phrasing that often accompanies biased or unverifiable information.

I don`t know if the phrase above includes the comments on the positive and negative effects of Ponds Forge`s use for competitions, but (despite the fact that it`s obvious if you think about it), as an example, Ponds Forge is being used for the British Swimming championships this week (w/c 29 Mar 2010).

On the one hand the event will be on the TV and in all the papers (exposure for the city), furthermore the hotels recognise that demand will increase during the event, in fact they have "event rates", i.e. higher rates during events due to increased demand.

On the other hand lane swimming is severely restricted, as is use by all the swim squads for that particular week. I`d put the link onto the "alterations" page of Sheffield Swim Squad and Ponds Forge but they`ll only be relevant for about a week from today.--JustinSmith (talk) 22:44, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
