The epithet "Long Island Sound Oyster Sloop" appears to have been applied by the National Park Service in this boat's NRIS entry. The NHL nomination form describes her (under an "Other Name" heading) as a Great South Bay Oyster Sloop, presumably because that is where she was built. The statement of significance says "Priscilla is a classic Long Island Sound and Great South Bay oyster dredging sloop". She appears to have spent the bulk of her working career on the Connecticut shore. Of the landmarked oyster boats, she is the only one built on the south coast of Long Island.
