Michel Le Peletier was the last "Prevot des Marchands" between 1784 and 1789. A silver octagonal coin, dated 1784, commemorates his position. Inscribed "Prevoste De M. L. Le Peletier Conseil D'etat"
According to the French Wikipeida article on "Prévôt des marchands de Paris", the correct name is Louis Le Peletier de Morfontaine, and the last prevost was Jacques de Flesselles. But it doesn't seem necessary to go into that level of detail here, so I simply deleted these lines. -- Margin1522 (talk) 15:49, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
