PungudiPoongudi – Typing "Pungudi" returns 15,500 G-hits whereas "Poongudi" returns more than 34,000 hits. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:28, 7 September 2020 (UTC) Kailash29792 (talk) 03:28, 7 September 2020 (UTC)Relisting. 2pou (talk) 05:04, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • G-hits aren't very relevant when all hits are from databases, and G-hits are so unreliable that being within the same order of magnitude means they're about the same. But are we sure these are the same subject? This article on The Hindu discusses a village named Poongudi, but it's in Tiruchirappalli district while this one is in the adjacent Pudukkottai district (from what I gather). – Thjarkur (talk) 10:32, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support When the common usage is unclear, we can go with the official one. Census of India (p 80) uses Poongudi. --Ab207 (talk) 07:40, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
