King's Own Yorkshire Dragoons?[edit]

Please excuse my ignorance, but would the prefix of "Queen's" have been "King's" when a King was the monarch, i.e. King's Own Yorkshire Dragoons, or is the name constant irrespective of the gender of the monarch? Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 12:02, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No. Honour titles (such as Queen's Own, King's Own, Duke of Wellington's etc) were awarded for specific people, in this case Queen Victoria. See [1].
