Queen of Nigeria → Monarchy of Nigeria (1960–1963) – This article covers the Nigerian monarchy as an institution that governed Nigeria from 1960 to 1963. So, the article title should reflect that. It is not merely about the title "Queen of Nigeria" itself. It covers the Nigerian monarchy's function, constitutional roles, its history, other aspects etc etc. Also note that an editor (User:Oziomoluabi) in this talk page complains about the inherent racism of using the article title for the modern monarchy instead of the native ruler Daurama. Hence, Monarchy of Nigeria (1960–1963) is currently the best option we have for this page. Also, please don't say that most of the former Commonwealth monarchies are titled "Queen of country", rather then "Monarchy of country", as they are also in a process of improvement. Oppose. Suggested title is clearly not the common name: searches for 'monarchy of nigeria' yield 0 reliable sources. Per Wikipedia:Article titles, article titles should be recognizable, natural and concise. Parenthetical disambiguation should only be used when there is no naturally disambiguated title. Strong Oppose, the page is not about a continual monarchy but only about one person, Elizabeth. Have recently gone through this before in a large RM, Talk:Queen of Ghana#Requested move 12 August 2021, which covered many topics. Support per nom. As a second choice, something like Queen of Nigeria (1960–1963) - the date range is fairly important here, this article is not discussing the monarchy during the Colonial Nigeria period nor the protectorate period before that nor traditional rulers before the formation of modern Nigeria. Best to make that clear in the title, I can easily see a reader assuming this article is on the "topic in general" rather than one short time period based on the current title. Support - per nom. 'Queen of Nigeria' sounds like a pop diva. This is about a state institution, not a person. PS - Also just learned that in 1960, the Catholic bishops of Nigeria commended the country to the Virgin Mary as "Mary, Queen of Nigeria" (feast day Oct 1), and there is "Our Lady Queen of Nigeria" cathedral in Abuja. Discussion

Gotta ask the 'big' question. The Monarchy of Barbados RM has been closed as 'no move'. This here RM will likely be closed as no move. Thus we'll have (beginning Nov 30) two virtually the same articles with drastically different titles. Then there's Monarchy of Fiji, too. WHY can't we come to an agreement for the same title style for all these articles which had 'only' one monarch, Elizabeth II? GoodDay (talk) 05:31, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
