How does this company make money?

[edit]

Is it obvious (to everyone except me) that this company relies on a certain method, (or "business model") in order to make money? Such as: by selling advertising on their web site?

Even if that [which was just a guess, on my part] is the case, ... IMHO it would still be a good idea for this article to [explicitly] state how this company makes money.

Just my 0.02. YMMV.

Some guesses

[edit]

The following edits caught my eye. Maybe at least one of them could be helpful in answering this question.

Also: one of the footnotes points to this article ... which contains the paragraph

One suitor was @ventures, the venture-capital arm of CMGI, an Internet conglomerate based in Andover, Massachusetts. CEO David Wetherell, 44, discovered Raging Bull while surfing the Web during a vacation. “I was looking for applications that had the potential to grow quickly,” he says. When CMGI asked to see a business plan, Martin and his pals pulled an all-nighter to write one. The next morning, Wetherell requested a one-on-one with Martin.

It does not seem to go into much detail about that business plan, but ... it is possible there there is some info somewhere (and maybe it's even available under some free license ...such as CC-BY or GFDL!) that might shed some light on what the "business plan" was, back then [which I think was circa 1998], or...[that's an "inclusive" or...] ...what it [the business plan] is, now.
Any clues? --Mike Schwartz (talk) 03:59, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
