Untitled[edit]

I'm a little confused here about what's going on with the reverting stuff. If I reverted something I wasn't supposed to, sorry, and can you change it back? It looked like vandalism, so if I made a mistake, again...I'm sorry!--ViolinGirl 01:24, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Link to "Kontroll" is incorrect. He was in the Film "Control," which apparently does not yet have a wikipedia article.

1954 or 1955?[edit]

When was his "real" birthday - there are different years in some other languages. Thanks, Giacomo1970 (talk) 19:47, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

The following should be incorporated into the article or deleted. See Wikipedia's use of trivia sections in articles.

  • In Field of Dreams, Liotta played the left-handed hitting Shoeless Joe Jackson. Because Liotta himself is a right-handed hitter, the character appears as a right-handed hitter in the film.
  • Ray Liotta is a fan of the English football team Arsenal F.C. He was even guest of honour at an Arsenal match in the 2005-2006 season. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nikki88 (talkcontribs) 14:38, 14 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

The Pizzaria he worked at is actually called Cioffi's (She-offees) not Ceramis, as stated —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.118.208.143 (talk) 04:29, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Criminal[edit]

"an actor and criminal?" why is liolita branded a criminal with a source quoting he was caught DUI? a criminal robs banks and shoots people, he was drunk driving! Not that i in any way condone such behaviour, but George W Bush has been charged for the same offence and his page doesn't brand him "USA President and criminal"

i dont think his opening description should state this - it conotates that he is a persistant law-breaker, it should be at most a section at the bottom with the incident written out in full rather than a defaming statement and a loose connection. very well legends to hypnosis third power hollywood not 4th ray liottingst

I fully agree. (a) He has been charged, not convicted, so he's still innocent until proven guilty. (b) Even if found guilty, he'd be guilty of a misdemeanor, not a crime, so he'd still not be a "criminal". (c) Even if it were a crime, it's a part of his story that would be worth mentioning in the article, but not in the lead paragraph. He's notable because of his film work, not because of any DUI conviction. I've reverted the edit. JackofOz 01:09, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Lee-otter, or Lee-ota. Differences throughout the world, ie US and UK variations. Alexsanderson83 (talk) 19:56, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

his role in Vice city isnt that well known.[edit]

New Blue Eyes[edit]

Lacking a photograph, shouldn't this article mention Ray Liotta's eyes? Simultaneously the most haunted and haunting eyes on the silver screen since Ol' Blue Eyes kicked the bucket. Frank Landsman (talk) 15:55, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Television role[edit]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he have a role on the TV show Just Shoot Me? I think he played himself.68.101.249.219 (talk) 21:15, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reoccurring role on Late Bight with Conan O' Brien?[edit]

I think he was a reoccurring actor, albeit minor, in O' Brien's sketches on his talk show, correct me if I'm wrong and thinking of someone else. Ubermein 02:50, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Italian?[edit]

I understand that Ray Liotta has stated that he located his birth mother and is not Italian, but many sources state that his birth name as given on the U.S. television show "Biography" was Raymond Julian Vicimarli. Vicimarli certainly sounds like an Italian name, though an Internet search reveals no persons currently bearing that name in all the U.S.! If his birth mother was Scottish (or Scottish/Irish), of what descent was his birth father? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.68.13.9 (talk) 23:37, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In a 2007 written interview that is no longer online (I think it is not, anyway), Liotta stated that Vicimarli was never his surname. It appears to be some kind of internet rumor. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 03:45, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Pulling this from hidden text in infobox -- more ideal to have public record of this note:

Better Living thru Chemistry[edit]

Why does the link to the Film Better Living thru Chemistry redirects here? Vzolin (talk) 03:47, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well spotted. I just deleted the redirect, but I do not know if anything further is required.--Soulparadox (talk) 05:21, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Rut (film)[edit]

I was redirected to this article having searched for "The Rut (film)". What does Liotta have to do with the film? Was he in it? Did he produce it? Nothing in the article addresses "The Rut (film)" why was it redirected? A little comsistency would be appreciated.LAWinans (talk) 02:15, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently Died?[edit]

Pretty sure he's dead. Allegedly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:7081:4F06:2869:F958:3E5F:9045:D8B (talk) 19:57, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It is safe to say that he has passed given the numerous reports from reputable sources. It appears he passed away in his sleep while in the Dominican Republic working on a project called 'Dangerous Waters'. See https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/26/entertainment/ray-liotta-dead/. Movies[edit]

All his movies are mentioned here except for Corinna Corinna with Whoopie Goldberg, 1994, which was one of my favourites and really good. Jyotiyogini (talk) 07:57, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

UK Heineken Advert[edit]

I can't add this to his article as it's currently locked, but when I heard of his sad passing I remembered a brilliantly funny advert he was in a couple of decades ago for Heineken.

Someone has uploaded it to youtube on the below link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CrFfXULICg

I think this was 2002 or 2003 when this ad was out in the UK — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.254.9.181 (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Birth name[edit]

I've removed the subject's birth name from the infobox twice now, and added a hidden text message asking editors to not add it again. The name Raymond Allen Liotta is not a birth name. The subject was born, then went to an orphanage for six months, then was adopted by his adoptive parents, who gave him that name. Frankly, we don't know what his name was at birth, or if he was even legally given one, as he was abandoned. --Kbabej (talk) 15:19, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cause of death[edit]

Description of his death 2A02:1210:70A8:7900:F5A9:BB8:A437:705F (talk) 07:55, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable source says he died in his sleep.[1] We may never get more information than that, and editors will only accept reliable sources, so you are unlikely to get more. If you have a reliable source that has said anything more about it then please provide a link. -- 109.77.205.36 (talk) 03:23, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Did you know[edit]

Both Ray Liotta & Roger E. Mosley shares the same birthday. December 18th. They both played in the 1992 film Unlawful Entry as police officers. Died almost three months apart from one another this year. 2601:2C1:8300:57C0:E178:D558:2C98:F5E0 (talk) 09:44, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ray Liotta’s accolades.[edit]

Dominick and Eugene is one film that I did not see listed in Liotta’s BIO that was not only one of his best but it was truly an award worthy film by Liotta co-starring Tom Hulce!

Dominick and Eugene 1988. Highly recommended! 47.149.135.243 (talk) 04:13, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Reliable sources regarding Ray Liotta's cause of death.[edit]

These are the only sources that I've discovered through here and from Tuko right here. I'm not sure if both of these are considered Reliable sources, since it wasn't on both the Deprecated or the Perennial sources, and the cause of death was remove from my edit.
