Agreed; it is the same as the Riemann sum. There is a stale merge proosal (open for 4 years) suggesting a merge to Riemann integral; however, the merge to Riemann sum suggestion is better; I'll change the tag and hopefully that will stimulate some discussion. I wouldn't suggest the merge, most texts of numerical analysis make a clear difference between midpoint rule (or rectangle method) and Riemann sum. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 22:48, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
