Allegations of bias

[edit]

@Physicallyinorganic: you've raised some concerns across multiple talk spaces regarding some sourced content on this article, and in order to narrow our focus a little, I'm opening a space for you to post sources and comments for discussion. The material in question comes from a book published by SAGE Publishing (a fairly well-regarded academic publisher). The book was released in 2010, so the material is not precisely up-to-date, but material from within the last couple decades is generally acceptable for broad societal concepts. The book was reviewed in the Indian Anthropological Society's January 2012 issue of Indian Anthropologist where it received a positive reception, in particular for its coverage of contemporaneous events and their impact on the Dalit Christian community. As such, statements within the book should be considered reliable. This does not make the material infallible–there's a reason this subject received so much attention–but it does make it suitable for citation on Wikipedia. If you can articulate a serious bias in the source (or what the source itself cites), we can and should discuss that. But, at present, the material is considered reliable and should not be deleted without tangible evidence to the contrary. Thanks! ~ Pbritti (talk) 20:34, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
