Renee PaquetteRenee Young – Common name. Renee gained exposure by her work in WWE as Renee Young (the article was created when she debuted in WWE), where she is in charge of social media, PPV Kick Offs and now she is in commentary team. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 13:41, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yep. This one's easier than Lana. Nothing to add to HHH's reasoning. InedibleHulk (talk) 23:07, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. When I was looking up sources to try to confirm a hard DOB for her (see section below), I noticed that she was more well-known by "Renee Young." I nearly proposed this move myself, but I don't know enough about the wrestling area of WP to feel comfortable doing that. LHMask me a question 23:14, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - notable with much exposure as a female commentator and interviewer in WWE. starship.paint ~ regal 02:17, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Her only exposure as Paquette was a relatively minor stint on a sports channel that airs only in Canada. WWE gives her worldwide exposure. She's more prominent than any other WWE announcer right now besides Cole, Lawler, and JBL.--GeicoHen (talk) 05:16, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth[edit]

Three sources are currently cited for the date of birth. However, none of them look to be reliable:

  1. http://www.gerweck.net/2014/07/09/renee-young-3/ appears to be one user's website related to wrestling.
  2. http://wrestlingdata.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=26003 was flagged by another user as unreliable.
  3. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2819311/bio is a page at IMDB, which is generally deemed to be of limited reliability (good for film credits, not good otherwise).

Do we have a more reliable source for the date of birth, or should it be removed from the article? —C.Fred (talk) 15:43, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I guess the question is, when two separate places (WrestlingData.com & IMDB) are confirming the same date, should we then assume that is a "preponderance of evidence", of a sort? I did find this site that gives a date of birth that is the same day, but one year later, but some editor of that Wiki added that yesterday, on her 29th/30th birthday, so it might be less likely to be true (given that it conveniently keeps her in her 20s, instead of turning 30) than the other two sources. LHMask me a question 16:17, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not to mention that a user-editable site like that is not reliable. —C.Fred (talk) 16:27, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And the subject's Tweet about her age is taken with a grain of salt, but that is an item to consider. —C.Fred (talk) 16:32, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If such things were "bettable", I'd put money on her being at least 30, given the some of the sort of snarky replies to her Twitter post, but who really knows? Certainly seems a bit too questionable (perhaps from her own design, but whatever) to put a definitive DOB on the article. LHMask me a question 17:01, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think her birth date should temporarily be removed until her actual birth date is revealed by a reliable source. In this tweet from 2012, she says she turned 27, which would make her 29 now. These websites also say she turned 29: [1] and [2] but I don't know if these websites are considered reliable. GoPurple'nGold24 21:56, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The standard practice, in accordance with BLP, is to remove a DoB in the absence of a reliable source. The sources listed so far do not appear to be reliable so the DoB should be removed. QED.--ukexpat (talk) 16:03, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life[edit]

She appears to be dating fellow WWE superstar Dean Ambrose. It seems true enough to at least put a mention down either as a rumor or as them being very close friends at the very least.

As far as personal life, I don't think it should be mentioned. We certainly don't report on rumours. However, once it becomes an established, long-term relationship, then it warrants inclusion.
If it's a relationship in the context of a storyline, that'd be a different matter—and it wouldn't be mentioned under personal life. —C.Fred (talk) 22:35, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You have the tools to do it, so would you please act on the uncontroversial move request above? I went to RM, but apparently no admins (or almost no admins) actually watch that page, so it's just sitting there. LHMask me a question 01:10, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don´t think it should be mentioned either! There is no confirmation with a date or a directly confirmation of Dean Ambrose himself . She didn´t mentioned a date or a beginning of the dating. I really don´t think it´s important to be mentioned in her personal life.

She was in a long-term relationship with Norm Sousa. Why is that not mentioned? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ser1234ar (talkcontribs) 17:09, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth revisited[edit]

Since multiple tweets from her official account have contained multiple dates of birth and indicated intent to change her Wikipedia page, we should not be using Twitter as a source, even within the limited scope of WP:SPS. The birthday needs to be in an independently-published source. —C.Fred (talk) 13:57, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Marriage to Dean Ambrose[edit]

So, Young has married Dean Ambrose. Congrats to them (!) but some Ambrose fans might try to edit the page without any sources. So far, all that has been confirmed is that they are married. It is unknown when, or whether or not any names have been changed. Ruth Maffett (talk) 18:56, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Ruth Maffett: Is there a reliable source yet that they're married? —C.Fred (talk) 00:30, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Pretty sure the US has an open collection of marriage certificates, should be possible to look it up.★Trekker (talk) 00:35, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Do we have a reliable source that is permissable per WP:BLPPRIMARY? Not to mention that could we be sure the people in the certificate were the right people. —C.Fred (talk) 00:38, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No idea, you can search around for a source, there should be one somewhere soon if there isn't already. Or we can just take her twitter response as a given. Why would anyone assume it meant anything other than that they're married now?★Trekker (talk) 00:43, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I would consider the combination of a marriage certificate issued from the a nearby county containing both of their legal names being found, confirmation by Young on twitter, it being reported on by numerous sources, mentions of it on air (which cannot be referenced but are still valid), and a lack of correction by any PR from WWE as the closest thing to confirmation before an offical statement can be made. Ruth Maffett (talk) 01:15, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
But I also understand any hesitation. I just figured that someone would add the info, so why not myself Ruth Maffett (talk) 01:17, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Mentions on air can be referenced. Just because it isn't easy to pull old episodes to verify doesn't mean it can't be done. —C.Fred (talk) 12:46, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A complicating issue with her name[edit]

Suppose she starts referring to herself as "Renee Good" on WWE properties. Wouldn't that only show that she's changed her ring name? In other words, I think we'll need to see that she uses "Good" in places where she currently uses "Paquette" to change the start of the intro. —C.Fred (talk) 01:46, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I just listened to the latest Regular girls episode (Renee's podcast) and towards the end she confirmed that she is now officially Renee Good. Laura J (talk) 07:15, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Laura J: That's a self-published source, but that is valid for things like what a person calls herself. Can you provide a link to the episode and a time marker for where in the episode she makes the statement? Then other editors can verify and assess. —C.Fred (talk) 12:44, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Name change / podcast source[edit]

I listened to the podcast stated above by user "Laura J" and Renee does indeed confirm her name is now officially "Good". She says (first part in "fake" French-Canadian accent) "Je m'appelle Renee Paquette. Actually I'm Renee Good now, 'offish' (official)"

Source is "Regular Girls", episode 32 (episode name "Roller Derby"), time: 57min16s (~) Podcast official homepage: https://www.theregulargirls.com/ iTunes/Apple homepage link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/regular-girls-podcast/id1182106478

Since there's a note on top of the article page stating "Sorry, until there is confirmation on whether or not Renee has changed her surname, please don't change it here.", someone should state whether that counts as a reliable source (I'd say it does). Given that I don't have a Wikipedia account, I suppose if I changed it now it would just get reverted, so some feedback first please. :) -- 77.182.102.151 (talk) 12:55, 29 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am changing it back to Paquette. This seems like a less than reliable source. Her Insta, Youtube, and Twitter all use Paquette. A Google search seems to bring up either Paquette or Young, never Good. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 20:58, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
WP:COMMONAME still applies though. Until such a time she grows more well known as Renee Paquette/Good/Moxley/Etc, she will remain at Renee Young. Rusted AutoParts 21:12, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, I'm not suggesting a move. My comment was regarding the first sentence, which I changed from "Renee Jane Good" to "Renee Jane Paquette". 162.208.168.92 (talk) 21:41, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Washoe Clerk Search[edit]

I checked the Washoe Clerk Search source and it says you need to be logged in to access the requested page. How is that supposed to be a reliable reference if we can't even access that page? Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 07:04, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Renee YoungRenee Paquette – Since leaving WWE in August 2020, she has been using her real name "Renee Paquette" instead of "Renee Young". The name change has been reflected on all her social media accounts and in reliable sources. Renee Paquette is the author of her upcoming cookbook and hosts her own podcast titled with her own name. • Support per LM, not Originalchampion. There is no point to change the name if the new name is less known. However, mainstream publications prove her common name is Renee Paquette. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 11:26, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
