Genre

[edit]

I've seen that the genre section on the main infobox is being altered daily, sometimes with realiable references and sometimes not, so I decided to open this section here so we can solve the genre issue once an for all.

I haven't seen any reliable sources labeling the album as Gothic Metal, so I think it might be already discarted, at least for now. The Skinny review labeled the record as Symphonic Metal: https://www.theskinny.co.uk/music/reviews/albums/within-temptation-resist Metal Injection Metal Injection also labeled as Symphonic Metal, but with some regards: http://www.metalinjection.net/reviews/within-temptation-resist The Music called them "Symphonic pop", but I don't even know it that really exists. However, they pointed out EDM and Industrial influences, but not as a whole genre for the album. A lot of other critics pointed out the prominent electronical elements but, as said, just as influences.

So, I think that it should just be labeled there as symphonic metal while we don't have any more references, or also create a footnote for pointing that, although on its basis, it is not a pure SM record and it has several distinct influences - as almost every critic points out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 10mandown (talkcontribs) 22:36, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • This is a case of reviewers ridiculously unable to describe music by its sound rather than using the genre label from previous albums, even when the band's genre changed so dramatically over the years. Reputation of "being a X band" replaces actual sound.Beaumain (talk) 10:04, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

[edit]
  • It was scheduled to be released on December 14, 2018,[3] but later postponed to February 1, 2019 due to production problems.[4] → why isn't this on the boyd of the article
  • February 1, 2019 → they are a Ducth band so the dates should be DMY and not MDY
  • produced by their longtime producer Daniel Gibson. → how about Mathijs Tieken?
  • The album marks the longest time gap between the band's releases at five years → add the years below and remove the source from here and add it below if necessary
  • at midnight on → remove
  • What happened to Mad World? I would remove most of this I would just let the ones with commercial success, but it is up to you
  • The album followed the band's pattern of incorporating new musical elements on each release, this time featuring more electronic, pop, and industrial influences. Lyrically, the band opted to focus more on political themes, a subject not explicitly approached by them on previous records. → first paragraph
  • It received generally favorable reviews from music critics → develop this idea more with examples and don't forget to metnion the Year-end lists
  • entering top ten positions in another seven countries. → entering top ten positions in another countries, such as...

  • Caption of first iamge should read "The album's music videos for "The Reckoning" and "Raise Your Banner" pictured above (which one is which?) feature science fiction themes. The band invested in them as radio stations weren't a realiable way of promoting heavy music nowadays.[11]

Update

[edit]

Hello, MarioSoulTruthFan. All of the recommended changes are done. Please let me know if there's still something you find worth of improving.

I already saw some discogs sources, remove them and replaced them by reliable ones. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 20:00, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sources replaced 10mandown (talk)18:32, 12 May 2020 (BRT)
I'm not sure what is going on but the Billboard sources for the album peaks are broken, you need to find the artchive for them. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 22:21, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure either, only the artist page seems broken, as the album still appears on the pages of the respective charts. References changed. 10mandown (talk) 20:06, 12 May 2020 (BRT)
You have to change for every for Canadian Billboard and the respective genre charts of Billboard and don't forget album sales. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 23:50, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Changed both Billboard Rock and Hard Rock references for the ones convering their respective peak weeks on the charts, as well as the Canadian reference and the album sales one in the "Commercial performance" section. 10mandown (talk) 22:55, 12 May 2020 (BRT)
