New Ronson U.S.A. page needed[edit]
The company that still makes Ronson cigarette lighters was founded in New York in 1886. This page appears to refer to a UK branch that is out of business, and could be morphed or merged into a new page. Vintage Ronson lighters and other products are highly collectible today. See Vintage-Ronson.com

Company name[edit]
Was the firm really called 'Ronson's Lighters', and not something like 'Ronsons' or 'Ronson Ltd'? Can someone confirm? (if it is changed, please edit the Leatherhead page.)

Slogans, dates and tanks?[edit]
Can anyone expand, ideally with introduction dates, coverage of their advertising slogans?
Part of the reason for this is in relation to WWII tanks. There is a persistent myth that the M4 Sherman was criticised for its protection at the time on the basis that it tended to catch fire when hit. Supposedly the Ronson slogan, "Lights first time, every time" then gave rise to a nickname of "Ronson" for the Sherman. However this has been challenged, mostly on the basis that Ronson didn't use that particular slogan until after the war. There's also a deliberate flamethrower tank, the Churchill Crocodile that carried the officially sanctioned nickname 'Ronson', for obvious reasons. Andy Dingley (talk) 11:02, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

- AIUI, the production D-Day Crocodile (which certainly didn't use either the same flamethrower or even the tank hull as the Dieppe Oke) collected the same 'Ronson' nickname, but I can't verify or source this offhand. What is clear, and all that's relevant to the Sherman, is that the name 'Ronson' was already officially sanctioned for at least some flamethrower tanks before the Sherman ever entered service. It's thus less likely to appear as an unofficial nickname in a totally opposed context. Andy Dingley (talk) 21:09, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

a bad ronson butain lighter[edit]
My name is pat burtch and I have been using ronson lighters for 45 years now and have been greatly pleased up until now. I lost my ronson lighter that took a wick but have not been able to find another.. I did how ever find a ronson butain lighter.. this lighter is a peace of crap compared to the one I lost for bing a ronson that I have been so greatly pleased with and I wish I had not lost it..when I bought my first ronson lighter it came in box like a kit...it had the lighter aswell as a ronson lighter fluid, and pack of flints..it is a shame I am unable to continue to use ronson ligghters anymore and I do not like rippo lighters at all and will not use them....I beleive ronson to make the best lighters up until now and that is a terrible shame Pat burtch (talk) 15:12, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
