More about the will[edit]

Montagu's will was the subject of some controversy. You ought to have more about it in your article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.162.253.101 (talk) 21:18, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Seperator" is wrong[edit]

"In 1899 the proposals were rejected and Montagu subsequently gave £10,000 (equivalent to £1033,000 in 2017)"

In the brackets it should read: £ 1,033,000

....and 5 years later it is still wrong and just as irritating. Can't anyone fix it? Rustygecko (talk) 12:50, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wine Order[edit]

A note for passing researchers, but unworthy of comment in the main text. In a Corney & Barrow order book (Guildhall Library, MS 11779) are records of orders, such in May 1891, Port, 1887 Thompson & Croft, 20 dozen for Samuel Montagu MP, he taking another 10 dozen in July 1891.
