I really don't think that the story of the unknown scout is appropriate for inclusion as part of this entry. -- Thesquire (talk - contribs) 23:17, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Can this page be salvaged into a real encyclopedia article?[edit]

This needs a lot of attention. A while back, an anonymous used added the tags {{inappropriate tone}} and {{unreferenced}} to this article. Evrik reverted these, but I think the tags were completely right - there are no references, and the tone is not right. Is there enough to say about this topic that it deserves an article of its own? The references to the Board of Review are specific to the Boy Scouts of America, so should probably be removed. If the story of the London fog is left in the article, it should preferably be summarised to about a quarter of its current length, and it needs a proper citation. The story about the Scout in the fog is about 50% fiction, as described on the page William D. Boyce#Unknown Scout legend. Zaian 16:05, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
  • I agree that the article needs to be worked on. --evrik (talk) 16:18, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
