Is it really called that?
Is the substance this article is about *really* called sea snot? By professional scientists, speaking or writing in a professional capacity? I don't know, but have my doubts about it. Mightn't they be more likely to say "marine mucilage"? Shouldn't this article therefore be titled similarly?
I wonder if the title of the article was changed as a joke, or as vandalism, and whether it should be changed to "Marine mucilage" - and "sea snot" changed to "marine mucilage" throughout the article - although "sea snot" could be mentioned as a colloquial usage if it can in fact be shown that scientists, or people generally, do frequently use "sea snot" informally. But, aside from that, I would expect an encyclopaedia to normally use the formal term for anything, both as a title and in the body of the text. M.J.E. (talk) 17:21, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
