like many other authors, Reily refers the HK MP5/10 as an MP10, which is incorrect. See http://www.hkpro.com/MP5-10.htm for more info.

I assume he wore standard fatiuges on Hell Island, which would be MARPAT. --Commander gree 22:20, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"He uses a [HK 9mm] like the one Lara Croft uses."

Source? Lara Croft in the movies uses a .45 USP Match pistol (or so it is called in the script in reality the actor uses a 9mm calibre version), not the sort of weapon a Delta Boy would lug around. All the pistol is referred to in the book as is "H&K 9mm". This could be anything from a P9 to a USP Compact.

The Aloysius Knight section required a minor change, he rescued the daughter of the Russian Defense Minister, not the Russian President's Daughter. See the section where Fairfield briefs Shane about Aloysius Knight in the story.Roswell Crash Survivor 00:19, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"A curiosity is that in his first adventure he is ranked as a Lieutenant - a mistake Reilly freely admits is glossed over in his successive novels." Uh, how is this a mistake? I assumed he was simply promoted following Ice Station. Battle Ape 17:33, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

schofield isn't a captain hes a 1st lieutenant

Having just re-read "Scarecrow" for about the 4th time, Schofield is ranked as Captain in that book and, if I remember correctly, in Area 7 also. He was 1st lieutenant in Icestation, which is explained somewhere in the first 1/4 of the book. And since I have the book ("Scarecrow")in front of me, the Black Knight actually rescued the daughter of Russia's Deputy President - minus four fingers.  :) pg 121 final paragraph Australian Edition, 2003. About the character[edit]

it may just be me, but this article seems like a complete info of the series, whereas the opening info details only the character

possibly this page should be split into three: one about schofield, one about the series and one about the supporting characters

it just seems wierd u hav the villians in an article about one man... Iciac 08:27, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree and put the split template up at the top of the page. The Kevin (talk) 18:24, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why is there bit about Buck Reilly senior? He was a major character in Ice Station, more so then the French people, yet he has no info. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DRK-MRSTR (talkcontribs) 00:42, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

your all nerds! but matthew reilly writes good books!--124.186.147.184 (talk) 09:21, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

there are spoilers in this article[edit]

there needs to be a warning at the top of this page that tells readers that plot twists are being revealed.

If there was a template for spoilers I would put it up there, but there isn't one unfortunately. The Kevin (talk) 18:24, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Length[edit]

This thing is WAY too long. I tried to cut it down but someone undid my changes; seems my IP has been used for vandalism before. Point is that this article - and a lot related to Matthew Reilly - needs to be re-written because there is simply too much in here. Renegade Raconteur (talk) 04:22, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Shane Schofield needs to be heavily edited[edit]

The article has frequent crossover between WP:INUNIVERSE and real-world, notable when discussing the character relations, presenting a problem of clarity. Also there are problems in regards to citation and WP:PASI. I am a fan of the series but a lot, if not all, of this article has been cut and paste from [Wikia] or has been used there and needs heavy amounts of editting to bring the article to Wikipedia standards.

If you feel that I am being too harsh here, or that I may be wrong, please let me know. I will also seek to find the template for putting a banner of "citations/references needed" and "uses in-universe details without distinction" and possibly a banner of "deletion" due to the lack of references and links. I think that any editors that have played a role here have made a good article describing Scarecrow, but now it needs to step up and meet Wikipedia standards or face WP:TNT under WP:Junk. I know that I seem to be using a lot of policies but I hate using policy references, meaning that this article is in some serious trouble unless some of the editors previously associated can help out.

I will post the WP:PROD up in a week, unless someone opposes, which then gives a further week of response before article deletion. Reasons are as stated above
