Content[edit]

This page is written terribly.

The community of Simcoe should not be confused with Simcoe County, located on the north shore of Lake Simcoe, of the many places he is named after in Ontario.

"He" is named after the places? Who is "he"? John Graves Simcoe is not mentioned until the next paragraph, and then, it's in a paragraph entitled "Modern Simcoe." And the places are named after him, not the other way around. The whole article goes on in a very haphazard fashion. Someone with a wee bit more time on their hands needs to clean this up. A map showing Simcoe's location within Ontario would be nice, too. Thank you.Highnumber 14:13, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The editor who created this page has created a lot of stuff with a lot fluff and fake content surrounding a kernel of truth. I've pared down this article to that kernel. Hopefully it can get some good attention now. AnmaFinotera (talk) 05:06, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Someone keeps trying to insert propganda into this page regarding a "Mass Transit" system that's barely in discussion, let alone being seriously considered or close to implimentation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.58.202.30 (talk) 17:55, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Added the Panorama to the list of events hosted in Simcoe. Couldn't believe this had been overlooked. Debated on the wording, as there seems to be several "correct" names such as The Simcoe Panorama and the Simcoe Panorama of Lights or even Simcoe Christmas Panorama but chose to just go with Panorama as that is what I've always heard it referred to as when I grew up in Simcoe. --Psilokan (talk) 23:45, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This page is so poorly written, so filled with errors, and blatantly negatively biased by the majority contributor, that it should be deleted. Perhaps someone with some experience at writing a factual historical record would be willing to give it a try. Someone who is not so quick to judge neighborhoods, belittle employment opportunities. Someone who has perhaps looked at what has been written about any other town, and used that as a template. Seriously - the Molson Bank of the 1920's somehow continues to contribute to the "Community and Culture"? "Italian restaurants and pizza places tend to be expensive"? Compared to where, Italy? "Norfolk Street tends to be the dividing road between the "haves" and the "have nots"? This comes as a revelation to me, as I'm sure it will to most people in Simcoe - because it's patently false. Simcoe is a thriving community, has been for years. Nothing is served with this infantile writeup. Whoever wrote the bulk of this page - epic fail. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.151.61.16 (talk) 01:19, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Honda Manufacturing is located in 3 hrs away in Simcoe County... not the town of Simcoe, Ontario, Norfolk County. The reference note listed # 46 in the article even states this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.103.58.123 (talk) 07:11, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What is Encephialitis Cardiopolica?[edit]

Some person thought that the majority of Simcoe suffered from Encephialitis Cardiopolica. Before I deleted the paragraph related to it, I thought it was just a suped up version of asthma or the flu. I tried looking up on Google and there was no hits. I also checked to see if there was a Wikipedia article about Encephialitis Cardiopolica and there was no corresponding article. So unless someone does make a Wikipedia article about Encephialitis Cardiopolica or verifies through local media that this "disease" does exist, it remains out of the article. Orphaned references in Simcoe, Ontario[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Simcoe, Ontario's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 03:45, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Expert.[edit]

This article needs attention from an expert, and certainly not from the user gvnayr. he made 300 "obsessive" edits, during the last eight years, and a good amount of his additions are always being removed. I consider this as a vandalism. --31.22.169.145 (talk) 13:52, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Some of the edits that an unregistered user (you?) had removed [1] were in fact good (in particular, there's nothing wrong about including information on former railway that used to service the town); some were misguided (e.g. speculation about what the town will be like in 2056). It's not necessary to accuse GVnayR of vandalism. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 15:00, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • No, I didn't remove anything. It was not me. I only added that tag, these articles need attention from an expert. --31.22.189.153 (talk) 15:05, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • The above messages from other editors say it all. --31.22.189.153 (talk) 15:07, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • The 31.22 IPs were blocked soon after these comments, as they are a user whose main account has been blocked for personal attacks, harassment and abusing multiple accounts; this discussion should probably be removed. The edits by 65.95.20.194 are unrelated. Peter James (talk) 18:32, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
