Gross Collection

[edit]

Wikipedia articles are not meant to promote the films nor a place to add news items appear in the entertainment secction of news websites. Lets wait for a stable figure. No need to update each of the day's collection. Wikipedia is not a newspaper. Rameshnta909 (talk) 13:16, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I just used the figures by a reputed box office source (Box Office India), the collection figures of which are used in even featured articles like Kahaani. Their estimate collections are used for Hindi films in general. You can even check recent examples like Kick. That said, I'd like to help to make this article better, in any way possible by me. Thanks! Josephjames.me (talk) 12:10, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks and appreciate your efforts. Please understand my only intention is to improve the article. My problem is not with the source but the frequent changes by users in collection section in the page. Wikipedia is not a bollywood film site like box office india or bollywoood hungama. It is an encyclopedia. we have to get a stable figure as the gross collection after 2 or 3 weeks after its release. we don't have to add the daily collection and change it everyday. Also avoid any content with a promotional tone. See WP:INDISCRIMINATE AND WP:PROMO. Rameshnta909 (talk) 12:28, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'll commend you both for the focus on trying make sure that good sources are used for the numbers. From watching various Bollywood film articles on my watchlist due to a serial sock master, time and again I see budget and gross numbers updated without concern for sources. It's annoying to say the least! That said, it's a natural tendency for editors to frequently update the gross, especially on hyped movies. Eventually, BOI will generally end up as the source for the film's gross. There can be some value to include opening day and/or opening weekend numbers especially when commented on by a secondary source beyond just reporting the number. My best advice is patience. There is a natural tendency to keep articles as up to date as possible. Eventually, after things calm down, sections can be reviewed, improved and updated as needed. Cool! Will touch it only after all this hullabaloo. And I never, ever, add any content with a promotional tone. Will see you guys later. Josephjames.me (talk) 12:01, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with Singam III

[edit]

This is an incredibly brief article that should be put under as a subsequent movie. // Posted by larsona (Talk) // 23:37, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. The basic threshold for a film article to exist is if the film has begun principal photography. Without that, the article shouldn't exist. Merge! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:31, 15 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please guys wait as that is the sequel in Tamil Language. The original series is in Tamil not Hindi and this article is about Hindi movie.--Vyom25 (talk) 07:39, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Singam II; This should be the proper place even if you want to.--Vyom25 (talk) 07:41, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I hope people have realised that Singam and Singham are two totally different franchisees with only the first films being related? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:13, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
