Roger Lane and red-links.

[edit]

I de-Wikified the name "Roger Lane" in this article, twice, because it linked to Roger Lane, American historian and Professor Emeritus at Haverford College. That article mentioned nothing about playing guitar in a glam-metal band, so I took a wild leap and assumed it wasn't the same Roger Lane.

I notice the names of all the other Smashed Gladys members, other than singer/songwriter Sally Cato, are red-linked, in this and the Smashed Gladys article, as if somebody added double brackets around them, in the hope or belief that they would all eventually have articles. I wonder if it was our own recent contributor, User:Sallycato, who did that. When and how do we determine if these guys aren't notable enough for their own articles, and take the brackets out? (Or, y'know, write some interesting articles about them, if they are notable.) I'd never heard of Smashed Gladys until I saw User:Sallycato, frankly, making a fuss on another editor's User Talk page I happened to be reading. I've actually become fascinated -- for today, at least -- but that's not because of their musical notability, it's because of her comments as a Wikipedia editor.
