Vandalism[edit]

Much as I used once to participate in student japes (at Cambridge, to boot) the current vandalism from one or more students whose IP (131.111.8.xxx) equates to that university is starting to grate with me. The particular nature of the vandalism and the proximity of the "xxx" slice of the IP suggests that this is someone being silly within the college. Any more and I think perhaps we should be looking at protecting this page until the culprit(s) become bored. Sitush 00:21, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction[edit]

The introduction of this article appears to be needing a brush up. It says that "Catz has a reputation for being a very easy-going and well balanced college". This is, in my opinion, not really a fair description given the efforts made to make Catz move up amongst the academically most succesful college which, eventually, succeded in 2005 by being placed at the top of the Tompkins table. Could we make a formulation something like that Catz is known for combining a strong academic tradition with a friendly and well balanced community?

Also, the article refers to a high proportion of students from state schools and to the college's contribution to the boat race. I do not doubt this, yet could anybody verify these two claims with a reference, please?

Likewise, the article states that there is a friendly rivalry with Queens'. While this may have been historically true, and is undoubtely a 'fun fact', as a current student i have never met anyone who knows about this rivalry from any source other than wikipedia's insistance that it exists. This seems rather circular/self-perpetuating - very much a creation of knowledge rather than simple cateloguing... Maybe a mention of the wheel depicted on their shield is a breaking wheel, a torture/execution device of the middle ages.
