Discrete time[edit]
This article on the Stable manifold appears to me as a discrete time version of this notion.
Of course, on can formulate also a continous time variant. Although, these two might be intimely related (time-one-map ?), it might be nice to discuss the continous time case, as most readers will probably come from dynamical systems, where this seems more important.
