To do[edit]

  • Lots of clarification can theoretically be provided, based on various books.
  • The reasons for Star Trek's demise, including "political infighting", could be clarified more based on the cited books and based on other Wikipedia articles such as perhaps Blue Meanies (Apple Computer).
  • The WikiProject Apple 'class b' ratings are set with the intention of indicating that the sources that are cited are reasonably reliable and well-formatted, but that insufficient sources are cited; and, the overall structure is probably kind of fat. This may be because of a lack of the existence of source information. The given sources are probably insufficient, to give enough insight.

Legacy on x86[edit]

My notations of parallels to Rhapsody and Darwin, as part of the overarching history of Apple, were reverted. I disagree and feel they should be added. Unless someone objects, I will revert the edits removing those changes.

I feel the context of Rhapsody DR2 on Intel was certainly a progeny of the inspiration caused by Star Trek, even though there was obviously no overlapping code.

We have a Legacy section here for a reason, to provide historical and long-running context for Apple's interplay between x86 and its desire to foster its own chips. 73.90.174.250 (talk) 22:55, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hearing no objections, I reverted the edit with additional sourcing added. I also think it should be looked at to add a reference to DOS / PC Compatibility Cards. As a result of Star Trek not going forward, Spindler embraced adding 486 NuBus, and later Pentium PCI compatibility cards - in order to bring Intel to the Mac, rather than Mac to Intel. 73.90.174.250 (talk) 07:12, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
