According to the liner notes of the Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars Mick Ronson - not Bowie - played piano on the record. I'd like to change the credits here to reflect this.Robbmonster (talk) 15:47, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure about that, but who played piano on the 1972 Top of the Pops appearances? Certain not Bowie or Ronson. This source says there were two appearances of the song: one on 6 July with Tony Blackburn and one on 20 July with Noel Edmonds. It says on the first on these the pianist was Paul Lumley. I would add this to the article, but the source is not a very good one. Martinevans123 (talk) 20:31, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nicky Graham on keyboards according to Kevin Cann. It's in the release section (doesn't specify in the ToTP section but it carries over). And I have no knowledge of a performance on 20 July. There was only the one broadcast on 6 July—taped the day before. – zmbro(talk) (cont) 03:16, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! Yeah I'm not sure what that 20 July one is offhand (Cann doesn't mention it). Could have been a re-run or something. But it was for sure Nicky Graham who played with Bowie on 5 July (broadcast on 6 July). – zmbro(talk) (cont) 15:22, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
