Um, how can we consider this the first production minivan if only 9 were produced? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.17.235.81 (talk) 23:36, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Besides the low "production" numbers the Scarab is not a minivan if we take the Chrysler Caravan as the segment definer. It doesn't have many of the key minivan features, derived from extensive consumer research, that made the minivan a success. Lacking are: Lift gate (or any rear access at all for that matter), sliding side door for child safety and ability to haul stuff like sofas and large boxes. Also a key packaging concern of the minivan was it fit in vast majority of garages. I can't find specifications on the Scarab but I doubt the standard garagebility of a vehicle with a 135" wheel base (compare to the Caravan's 112" wheelbase) and a rear seat 6' wide. Especially considering the average garage at the time was Model T (wheelbase 100") sized. Mitheral (talk) 10:00, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disastrous Edit

[edit]

By altering a few words a paragraph was destroyed and a long, long sentence runs right off the page. I've tried to fix this but have had no luck so I'll leave it to someone who actually knows what they're doing. I tried Undoing the edit but for some reason that wasn't allowed (although generally it is simply a click of the undo in the history!). Specifically, the edit was supposed to make the article more neutral and really eliminated two or three words. I didn't expect it to create this havoc! 75.48.23.112 (talk) 03:01, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I fixed it! 75.48.23.112 (talk) 03:03, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To those that feel more comfortable editing the text and references on Wikipedia:

I used the link to the article citing a newspaper article on a person owning a Scarab. When I clicked the link to the Fayeteville Observer the website returned a page not found. I did a search and found the correct link to be [1] 2602:306:3B2A:F6D0:40A:F908:8D8B:6D7F (talk) 06:08, 5 October 2016 (UTC)Ron Myers[reply]

Fixed, thanks for the pointer. Andy Dingley (talk) 10:20, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
