Dead vs. stuck[edit]

A stuck pixel is a common pixel defect on LCD screens, where any number of the 3 sub-pixels are
faulty, producing (most commonly) permanent red, green and blue pixels on the screen. Similar to
(and often falsely labeled as) a dead pixel, whose 3 sub-pixels are permanently off, producing a
black pixel. While one is not very noticeable on a high definition screen, stuck pixels tend to
occur in groups, and are most easily noticed on dark or black screens.

Should this perhaps be phrased in terms of `Technically speaking…' vs. `Common usage…'? It sounds somewhat contradictory to my eyes as it stands.—Dah31 02:37, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hot pixel v. stuck pixel[edit]

This article is only about LCD's, but it should also cover CCD's. A hot pixel is not the same as a stuck pixel, all though hot pixel redirects to stuck pixel and isn't mentioned further. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.108.244.40 (talk) 10:37, 31 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]
