Cleanup required[edit]

Page is a mess, mostly links to other articles. It should be rewritten or at least re-structurized. mic 21:04, February 27, 2006

It was a very weak presentation. I'm in the process of adding and subtracting crucial elements. Feel free to make any changes if you are so inclined. Dre 23:54, April 6, 2006
Part of the problem is that some of the meanings of "synchronization" are so different that it does not make sense to handle all in one article. "Synchronous communication" redirects to here. That makes no sense. My suggestion is that the only meanings that should be treated here are those covering the (one-shot or continual) act of establishing or maintaining a common clock or clock rate for several processes. Other meanings should be referred to, either by a referral preceding the lead paragraph, or by a "See also". LambiamTalk 08:43, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
With the large See also section, this page appears to be well on it's way towards becoming a disambiguation page. I'm good with that. I think Clock synchronization can absorb the remaining specific content on this page. --Kvng (talk) 16:25, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Should something about the relativity of simultaneity be added to this article? Martin Hogbin (talk) 22:57, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Synchronization vs. Synchronisation[edit]

We want to be consistent about spelling as per WP:ENGVAR. The title of the article is Synchronization (with redirect from Synchronisation). Text in the article uses synchronisation. I'm inclined to go with the spelling in the title. Any dissent? --Kvng (talk) 16:20, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Done --Kvng (talk) 23:02, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

The link does not take you anywhere sensible. (talk) 08:26, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

I removed the link. --Kvng (talk) 17:19, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
