Species' name[edit]

IUCN (2010) and FishBase both list this species as Synodontis flavitaeniatus. FishBase, in particular, lists S. flavitaeniata as a synonym and marks it as a "misspelling of the species' name that must not be used": Synonyms of Synodontis flavitaeniatus Boulenger, 1919
