Procurement Technical Assistance Centers

Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) -- located in all 50 states, plus Guam, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia -- provide expert, no-cost assistance to any business needing help with the SAM registration process. PTACs are funded, in part, by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), a unit of the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). Individual PTACs are hosted by state governments, colleges and universities, local economic development organizations, and others. It is the mission of the PTAC program to assist businesses with all aspects of government contracting, and DLA maintains a directory of PTACs at http://www.dla.mil/smallbusiness/pages/ptap.aspx. PTACs are members of the Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC). To be honest, I don't see much value in adding any 3rd party contractor, as that isn't really to focus of the article. I'm inclined to remove US Federal Contractor Registration on the grounds that Wikipedia is not a directory, unless there's a good reason not to. At the moment, the mention comes across as very promotional, and it creates a situation where we may need to list all 3rd party groups. - Bilby (talk) 06:53, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It has been a couple of weeks, and there's been no objection - so I've also removed US Federal Contractor Registration from the page. It felt promotional, and I can't see a good argument as to why we should list third party registers. - Bilby (talk) 04:36, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
