Rename[edit]

Now that the deletion discussion is over, I was thinking this page should be renamed. A few people shared this view in the deletion discussion. I was hoping to discuss this and get a consensus. I think "One Direction 2013 World Tour" would be a better name. Other bands are going on world tours in 2013 so this title is not really appropriate in my opinion. --Shadow (talk) 20:28, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I concur – I made the move to 2013 One Direction world tour before but it was reverted. However, the reverting user supported my move proposal at the AfD, so I've no idea what's going on there. My only suggestions would be listing the year first and not capitalising "world tour". matt (talk) 22:11, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think putting the year first would confuse people though. A One Direction fan who just wants to see say the dates is probably going to type "one direction 2013 tour", probably not 2013 first. --Shadow (talk) 04:41, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've just had a look at lots of other tour articles to see what standard is used currently. Led Zeppelin concerts#Concert tour chronology uses "Band Location Year" (e.g. Led Zeppelin United Kingdom Tour Summer 1969), as does List of The Who tours and performances, though others use your suggestion or a mixture. There doesn't seem to be anything at MOS:MUSIC or WP:NCM. I'd usually suggest going with the method I came across most often – which would give us One Direction world tour 2012, but that looks really weird! I'd support your suggestion, with all the other possibilities being redirects. matt (talk) 07:26, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with "One Direction 2013 World Tour". I believe 'World Tour' should be capitalised at that appears to be the official name of the tour (at least currently) Stevo345 (talk) 08:17, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not to mention it looks awkward lower cased. Plus, Tour is always capitalized because it's part of the name. --Shadow (talk) 19:20, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

@matt i didn't respond to your respond because i have pressed for time lately ---- i still prefer the title the way it is, but i support the name change in afd because it would help the page in cynical users eyes i knew the title would cause some kind of stirr since it's not a madonna or lady gaga tour if the title iz changed i support the 'One Direction 2013 World Tour' but on other pages i am going to using the what would be redirect 2013 World Tour excuse the english AdabowtheSecond (talk) 19:35, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rename again[edit]

  • to 2013 World Tour: the title just looks weird and the official name is 2013 World Tour and their is no need to disambiguate so why not AdabowtheSecond (talk) 14:15, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support No need for disambiguation. Unreal7 (talk) 23:41, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"2013 World Tour" already redirects to this. If there's no other tour called the "2013 World Tour" then there shouldn't be any brackets. Unreal7 (talk) 22:36, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong oppose "2013 World Tour" should be a disambiguation page, since there are many many many many (etc) things that are called that. 70.24.251.208 (talk) 03:44, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

comment why? it is not in use by any thing else

  • Oppose that useless title as a replacement for one that is convenient and helpful for all concerned. How would even followers of One Direction be benefited by such a loss of precision? NoeticaTea? 04:14, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm confused[edit]

OK, so there will be other world tours in 2013. But I still don't get how this isn't seen as the primary topic. Even if it isn't, the title still looks really wrong and there must be some better name we can think of. Unreal7 (talk) 11:51, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion(s) above covers this. While the tour may be called the "2013 World Tour", that is far too ambiguous, therefore we add "(One Direction)" to the end – see WP:NAME and WP:DISAMBIGUATION. As we have established that "2013 World Tour" is far too ambiguous for the One Direction tour, what would your suggestion be? matt (talk) 13:36, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I would have proposed what the page has now been moved to. Unreal7 (talk) 23:28, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Move protected[edit]

This article is now indefinitely protected against page moves. This isn't passing judgement on the current name, but forcing discussion to take place here before any more moves are carried out. As editors have reasoned in recent moves, the title One Direction 2013 World Tour appears to have gained consensus on this talk page, whereas the title with parentheses still has objections. matt (talk) 09:19, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dates[edit]

Should something not be put in place to show that some dates have more than one show on the same day? Just a suggestion :).Handsopened (Handsopened 15:41, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Verdict[edit]

Sorry but i've read the article and I have to fail it. The reason? First, the tour hasn't started, so all information regarding the tour is yet to be available, and will surely be available, so it fails 3(a) and may fail 3(b), but not because that ifnormation could not be found, but because it will be available. For a reference, Tour articles are nominated and reach GA status after the tour has ended, not before it has started.

Second, it may fail 5. The page is move-protected and after looking up to the history, i have my doubts wether there has been recent edit wars over the content and the name of the article. I recommend the nominator to wait until the tour is over and all information related to commercial performance, critical reception, tour design, setlist and so on, is available. As of now, the article doesn't meet the guideline of completeness required to reach GA status.

Thanks for your time and I should not have nominated it so prematurely. *the more you know*. AdabowtheSecond (talk) 13:25, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Japan or Asia[edit]

Considering Japan is not a continent, I think it should say Asia rather than Japan. --Alessandro159 (talk) 03:15, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
