"Val succumbs to the charms of Lady, who plans to set him up with a refreshment bar..."
No wonder Val succumbs; he's wanted to run a refreshment bar all his life. Seriously... No doubt the statement is literally correct, but it sounds Really Dumb. It needs rethinking and rewriting. WilliamSommerwerck (talk) 21:45, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- The sentence sounds just fine to me.
- We are dealing with Williams here, and a 1950s film. The sentence suits its subject matter.
- We want this to read more like a description of American Pie Presents Band Camp? Anachronistically?
- I have 100 plot summaries over at the IMDb. It is standard practice to adopt a style which conforms to the material at hand.
- You're not going to use the same language writing about The Song of Bernadette and Rob Zombie's Halloween.
