Duke of Marlborough[edit]

If I remember correctly, Tim Bentinck plays Churchill's ancestor John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough in a flashback scene when Churchill is writing Marlborough: His Life and Times. I don't think Churchill's kinsman John Spencer-Churchill, 10th Duke of Marlborough is portrayed at all. Opera hat (talk) 23:44, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:King Cobb has just notified me that the contemporary Duke of Marlborough does appear. However, the Duke played by Tim Bentinck is the first one - he's listed third in the end credits, which are in order of appearance. Opera hat (talk) 00:17, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There's a clip of the scene on Bentinck's website here (near the bottom of the page). Opera hat (talk) 00:41, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mr Wood[edit]

Edward Hardwicke played Mr Wood, Churchill's bank manager, not the future Chancellor of the Exchequer. Clementine goes to see him when concerned about the state of the family's finances. Mr Wood tells her that her husband has promised to correct the situation by cutting down - to three bottles of champagne per day.

The link to Kingsley Wood should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.12.99.94 (talk) 12:03, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
