Merger proposal[edit]

Two snub articles, mostly covering the same ground. Better, I think as a single "The Plank" article covering them both, the original episode of "Sykes and a ..." and any differences between versions. Duggy 1138 (talk) 13:27, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. Also, the film's "dialogue-free" status is highly exaggerated - there's actually quite a lot of real dialogue in the film. Lee M (talk) 04:02, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
I'm happy with the merge - the 1979 remake doesn't require its own article.--A bit iffy (talk) 14:04, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Apart from the casts, which still have a lot in common, basically it's the same film. The 1979 could profitably be a subsection on this article. Rodhullandemu 22:18, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
I oppose. The films may share the same storyline and re-use some of the cast and crew, but are still two separate productions. --Bensin (talk) 18:35, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
Bensin, you may want to do a search engine test for both films. There is not a lot of coverage for either film. I think it is a good idea to merge them because instead of two barren articles, we can have one article that reasonably summarizes both productions and even compare and contrast the cast and crew.
