Untitled[edit]

Has anyone heard a similar story about a car company in Japan who had drilled a hole down the center of a neadle and sent it to Rolls Royce to see if they were impressed. Rolls Royce sent it back with a message saying "well done you are catching up" after puting a screw thread in the hole. Me lkjhgfdsa 21:45, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Overseen Leskov's criticsm[edit]

Long time ago I saw an article which icluded the following. Levsha is traditionally seen as an archetype of Russian craftsmanship. But unnoticed was Leskov's remark that after being shod the flea could not dance anymore (because the fine balance was disrupted). This was presented as Leskov's criticism of Russian well-meaning but witless "improvements" of Western designs. Это жалко, лучше бы, если б вы из арифметики по крайности хоть четыре правила сложения знали, — то бы вам было гораздо пользительнее, чем весь Полусонннк. Тогда бы вы могли сообразить, что в каждой машине расчёт силы есть, а то вот хоша вы очень в руках искусны, а не сообразили, что такая малая машинка, как в нимфозории, на самую аккуратную точность рассчитана и её подковок несть не может. Через это теперь нимфозория и не прыгает, и дансе не танцует.
