It's interesting how something like this will suddenly crop up in 2014 -- why now after almost 30 years of usage? My guess is that the people who are really "offended" by this are whitish left-wing anarchists from groups like OPIRG. But whatever the case, I actually think it's a good idea to get rid of the logo -- and the name. Restore the previous name and logo, or find a new one that better represents the region. Maybe something the honor the War of 1812 or the Loyalist settlers to the region. I hope that this will continue and that all depictions of Indians on sporting team logos are removed. Also, the next time I see some Indian wearing a sports cap or t-shirt for one of these teams, I'll make sure to call the jerk a "racist".
