Dear Friends,

This is a rough draft first attempt at a page for the Three Principles, as defined by Sydney Banks. Additions & corrections are welcome! — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChelseaFlower (talkcontribs) 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Memorial Day!?[edit]

Sydney Banks was British-Canadian ... how is it possibly relevant that he died on a U.S. holiday? That seems very odd ... rather than simply listing whatever day that was. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.171.211.210 (talk) 16:57, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps this page ought to subsume the 'Health Realization' page (or vice versa)? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_realization — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.96.250.185 (talk) 05:37, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. It would be helpful to merge this page with the Health Realization page. I'm happy to do it if Wikipedia will let me! :)

Hiya, thanks for starting this page. I understand why you thought a 3P page should be available and simple, but perhaps in the eyes of Wikipedia that means it's too reliant on Primary sources? In which case, to improve the quality of the 3P page we would probably need to repeat/incorporate much of the info on the Health Realisation (HR) page! The HR page certainly honors its roots as being in 3P, and has a lot of valuable information about the 3Ps as they have developed since Sydney articulated them. So I agree, it seems silly to replicate its good work and perhaps the articles do need to be brought together, as the user above has suggested. In your view is there a simple (ish) way of differentiating between 3P as the origin influencer and the subsequent HR applications, articles, history etc? Do we know who the HR original author is? Is it feasible to join the articles, or somehow divey up the information as well as adding more relevant links to the 3P page? I think these kind of discussions are important context for others who access the 3P page while it has so many highlighted errors.

Here's an example from the HR page: "The County of Santa Clara, California, for example, has established a Health Realization Services Division which provides HR training to County employees and the public. The Services Division "seeks to enhance the life of the individual by teaching the understanding of the psychological principles of Mind, Thought and Consciousness, and how these principles function to create our life experience," and to "enable them to live healthier and more productive lives so that the community becomes a model of health and wellness."[55] The Department of Alcohol and Drug Services introduced HR in Santa Clara County in 1994.[56] The Health Realization Services Division has an approved budget of over $800,000 (gross expenditure) for FY 2008, a 41% increase over 2007, at a time when a number of programs within the Alcohol and Drug Services Department have sustained budget cuts.[57]"

It's actually called the 'Three Principles Service Division' isn't it, so shouldn't this paragraph be on the 3P page, rather than HR? I also understand the desire for the roots of Sidney's teachings to be distanced from any specific models - in order for continued 'formless' involvement and responses to his work. Perhaps we could have a small section on that? I also like that the HR section has a bit about how other philosophies may compliment this work. Perhaps it needs a section that acts as a Three Principles 'YES AND' approach which acknowledges its likeness to the formless nature within teachings of Taoism (etc)? That would increase links out.
